Product Description

USDA_organicseal_1in.gifOver the centuries, vinegar has been used for countless purposes: making pickles, killing weeds, cleaning coffee makers, polishing armor, and dressing salads. It's also an ancient folk remedy, touted to relieve just about any ailment you can think of.

In recent years, apple cider vinegar has been singled out as an especially helpful health tonic. So it's now sold in both the condiment and the health supplement aisles of your grocery store. While many of the folk medicine uses of vinegar are unproven (or were disproved), a few do have a medical research backing them up. Some small studies have hinted that apple cider vinegar could help with several conditions, such as diabetes and obesity.

Apple cider vinegar, a product made from fermented crushed apples, provides the body with important nutrients, such as iron, copper, potassium and calcium. People often use apple cider vinegar in the form of a liquid, pill or powder to kill bacteria. However, most of apple cider vinegar's antibacterial properties come from its ability to stop the growth of bacteria or boost your immune system, rather than actually killing bacteria.

Apple cider vinegar has been touted by grandmothers and alternative health providers as a remedy for various health issues, from gastrointestinal problems to wounds to high blood pressure. While the vinegar may have some health benefits, it also carries the risk of side effects and interactions with medication that you might be taking. Talk to your doctor before trying any alternative remedies, including apple cider vinegar.

According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, drinking a couple of teaspoons of apple cider vinegar mixed into a glass of warm water several times per day can help you get over a bout of food poisoning more quickly due to its antibacterial properties. Apple cider vinegar also can delay gastric emptying. In nondiabetic people, this can allow your blood glucose level to stay more constant. In diabetics, however, this delayed gastric emptying can cause you to have trouble regulating your glucose and insulin levels. If you are diabetic, do not take apple cider vinegar without your doctor's supervision.

The main ingredient of apple cider vinegar, or any vinegar, is acetic acid. However, vinegars also have other acids, vitamins, mineral salts, and amino acids.

Vinegar powder puts the tart into your chip dip, bean dish, chili, or stew. It's great for flavoring ribs, steak, and chicken, vegetables and meat sauces, and salad dressings. Sprinkle vinegar powder and lime juice powder over homemade potato chips or popcorn.

You can even use vinegar powder to remove the smell of onions from your hands. Vinegar powder reduces excess soap accumulation in HE washers. Combine vinegar powder with bakers ammonia to create bowl cleaners or mix vinegar powder with salt to create a simple surface cleaner
