This FDA-approved preservative for oils and fats is a powerful antioxidant

Support supplement for cold sores, herpes, fever blisters and as a preservative and antioxidant. BHT is intended to be mixed with fats or oils as a preservative antioxidant. Usage rate should not exceed .02% of the fat or oil being preserved.

If BHT is ingested in amounts higher than when used as a food preservative, alcohol should be avoided, as BHT prevents the breakdown of alcohol and will exacerbate and prolong the effects of alcohol.

Directions:  Add 1-2 capsules to bottle of cooking oil to preserve freshness.  Primarily used to prevent fats from becoming rancid.  BHT reacts quickly with oxygen in the air, making the oxygen unavailable for reaction with surrounding fats and oils.  Or consume 2-3 capsules/day in evenly divided doses.
