Instead of tasting “salty” it fills your mouth with the warm, taste of the sea. It’s moister, more flavorful than regular sea salt and is worlds away from standard table salt!
French Grey Salt is a “moist” unrefined sea salt coveted all along the Mediterranean. Its light grey, almost light purple color comes from the clay found in the salt flats and the grey hue comes from its extremely high level of minerals and nutrients. The salt is collected by hand using traditional, wildcrafted Celtic methods. Grey Salt has gained great fame in the mainstream culinary world in the last few years and is considered by many to be the best quality salt available.
Great for use in stews, soups or any recipe that would benefit from large, coarse grains of salt.
Also recommended for use in Neti Pots for relieving sinus congestion. Most salts has been stripped of its minerals and is 99% sodium chloride. Without the minerals your saline solution won’t optimally breakdown the mucous in your sinuses.
For regular use in Neti Pots: Place a heaping ½ teaspoon of French Atlantic Grey Salt into your neti pot with 8 oz. of warm water. Stir thoroughly and run 4 ounces through each nostril.
An isotonic solution (9 grams of salt to one liter of water) is closest to your body’s ph and is what we recommend for daily use with the neti pot while a hypertonic solution (35 grams of salt to one liter of water) helps reduce tissue swelling and is often suggested when dealing with chronic conditions.
