Product Description

Taragui yerba mate tea adds a refreshing citrus flavor with orange soaked stems and real orange cascaritas (peels).  Orange peels are a wonderful traditional additive; consider substituting orange juice for water in your gourd.  It's an amazing drink and a refreshing flavor for summertime terere, or any time of year!

Yerba Mate is packed full of difficult to find, important nutrients: Vitamins B-1, B-2, A, riboflavin, carotene, colin, pantothenic acid, inositol and 15 types of amino acids (F. Alikaridis 1987). It also contains significant quantities of the all important iron, potassium, and magnesium minerals, something Green Tea lacks. As noted by The Pasteur Institute and the Paris Scientific Society, "It is difficult to find a plant in any area of the world equal to Mate in nutritional value."

More About Las Marias (mfr of Taragui)
The history of Las Marías begins at the outset of the twentieth century, when Víctor Navajas Centeno inherited a ranch located in the northeast of the Argentine province of Corrientes. Besides a ranch, Navajas Centeno inherited from his family a bold spirit and a great love of plants. Taking after his mother, who had delved into experiments in cultivating yerba mate, Don Víctor, along with his wife María Silvia, dramatically changed the cattle-ranching nature of his inheritance when they created the first successful yerba mate plantation at Las Marías. It was 1924. The couple was young, and they dreamed about the future.

Years later, ventures into tea growing would change the landscape of the region forever. Since then, three generations driven by this same intrepid spirit have been able to carry forward a family project that has transformed Las Marías into a leading center that specializes in infusions. Today, Las Marías is a prestigious source of tea for the entire world and the greatest producer of yerba mate on the planet. Taraguí, Unión, La Merced and Mañanita, all are the results of a company in constant development.
