You could almost call this the Universal WiFi adapter. When used alone the Versa WiFi USB Adapter II with the included Versa + 5db Antenna it works well, but by adding a larger antenna (sold separately) you can potentially get WiFi from miles away.

The Versa WiFi USB Adapter II has an external coaxial connector (RP-SMA type) that gives you the ability to use it with a better antenna. When you're on the road, you can attach a Mobile WiFi Antenna to the Versa Wi-Fi USB Adapter - and get high speed internet on your laptop. When at home, connect a directional WiFi Tabletop Antenna to boost the signal through walls. For the biggest boost in range, attach a narrow beam, Point-To-Point WiFi Antenna for reception up to about 3 miles (depending on the wireless routers sending antenna).
You could improve these test results dramatically by installing a bigger antenna on the router. Remember your WiFi can be improved on either side of the signal.
