Product Description

A woody astringency and the nuance of fresh peaches distinguish the remarkable aroma and flavor of this tea. Oolong is also referred to by its Chinese pinyin translation "Wu Long."

Oolong means semi fermented. They are manufactured very similar to black teas, but are given a much shorter withering period, a light roll (according to the type of oolong being made), and then allowed to ferment only until the edges of the leafs start to turn brown. The tea is then fired which arrests the fermenting process and captures the interesting character associated with Oolong tea. Se Chung Oolong has a shorter fermentation time than other Oolongs from Fujian province resulting in more subtle Oolong character. There are delicate notes of Ti Kuan Yin style flavor combined with a slight herbaceous green character. This is why this particular tea is sought after - delicate flavor notes of a top Oolong combined with green tea characters.

The locking in of the rich flavors of the oolong tea is responsible for the tea’s metabolic stimulating attributes that it is known for.

Also because the oolong tea is only partially oxidized, its caffeine content is lesser as compared to black tea’s caffeine level.

How can you benefit from Oolong tea?

Oolong tea contains tannic acids that aid the body’s for burning process by targeting the stored body fat first and by blocking the absorption of the body of fatty acids after meals. This is done by speeding up the body’s metabolism and reducing cholesterol.

This tea also contains huge amounts of polyphenol that is responsible for improving cognitive function and mental well being, strengthening and boosting your immune system and preventing allergies. In addition to all these, oolong tea also leaves you with radiantly glowing skin.

Because the it contains less caffeine and doesn’t taste like grass, like other types of tea, taking two cups or servings of Oolong tea daily wouldn’t seem too difficult to achieve and, because Oolong tea is known to burn over 157% more fat than other variants of tea such as green tea, the oolong tea has been sought by weight watchers and health buffs.

Furthermore, Oprah endorsed Oolong tea!

Smooth cup with exotic flavor notes. A book lover's tea.
