Frontier Co-op® bulk organic dried elderberries are attractive dark purple berries grown in their native Bulgaria. These appealing dark berries are part of the honeysuckle family and are commonly used as a wellness tea or as an ingredient in culinary dishes.
Dried elderberries deliver flexible options for many culinary needs and the flavor of elderberry develops most when mixed in foods or drinks. They are used in sweet syrups and desserts, and they provide a pleasant, fruity aroma. Elderberries are also perfect to be paired with other fruits, as their earthy undertones are emphasized when used in jams and jellies. This dark, purple berry also complements teas and warming winter cordials.

Key Constituents:
Elderberries typically contain flavonoids (quercetin, rutin), anthocyanins (cyanidin-3-glucoside
and cyanidin-3-sambubioside), cyanogenic glycosides, viburnic acid, and vitamins A and C.1-4
For tea, pour 1 cup boiling water over 1 tsp. elderberries, cover and steep 3-5 minutes.
